One of the best things here is the water, it is the purest yummiest glacial water right out of the tap. Also, there is NO tipping in Iceland whatsoever. When we tried to tip a waiter after a meal we were told there is no tipping here. It dawned on me that so far, no place in nature is there a charge to 'see' any amazing places - they are naturally just there. Yes, there are dozens of adventure excursions but there doesn't seem to be a focus on charging people to see natural wonders or tip a server, very much different than north america..
Oh my, I just fell in love with Iceland a lil more, yes the nature is out of this world but they love licorice, (so do I !!!) and it's available in all forms imaginable (& unimagined before)! Yesterday, we went to a hot dog stand (famous here) to try their hot dogs (the mustard is a different color/flavor than in Canada - not sure we like it) and I purchased 7 chocolate bars for all four of us to hopefully last awhile, with no idea what was inside the wrapper. Two of the bars had black licorice coated in chocolate...it's amazing! Well, the kids didn't like it but more for me lol. I went running later during sunset so no worries :-) Running is a great way to get to know the area. The kids liked the caramel, cookie and nut kinds...i think there's only one left. There is licorice for toppings on ice cream, bags of all kinds and shapes of licorce. Before we leave, we're filling up a bag. haha..

We can't wait til you get here, mom, in only a couple wks, and share together. Thanks for coming!!! Bring an extra suitcase for things to take back like the chocolate licorice bars, although I'm sure the memories will be bigger than a suitcase & take up no space :-) Love you.
